Planning Your Event – How to choose your DJ

Things to consider when planning your event

• How many people are you expecting?
• Who is your audience? What type of musical styles do you need?
• Do you want the DJ to MC as well as play music?
• Is the event inside or outside?  If outside, you may need a tent and a hard floor to protect the DJ against the elements.
• Do you want the DJ to take requests or stick to a specific playlist?

Things you should ask when selecting a DJ

• What type of music does the DJ specialize in?
• Does the DJ rent or own his equipment?
• Does the DJ provide a contract? **ALWAYS** request a contract!
• What type of events have the DJ performed in the past?
• Does the quote include travel and setup?
